The Socha river valley (rafting)

For lovers of active extreme rest and connoisseurs of the beauty of nature, this tour is the best choice!
Soča is a river passing through the territory of Slovenia and Italy (in Italy its name is Ionzo). This is a very beautiful river with a bright emerald color of water. The color of the water does not change throughout the river and therefore it is also called the “Emerald beauty”. At an altitude of 990 meters in the valley of Trent, near the top of Mount Triglav, the river originates. It is surrounded by the picturesque Slovenian Alps and meanders between rocky and wooded mountain ledges. The length of the river is 138 kilometers, of which 96 kilometers flow through western Slovenia, and 42 – in northeastern Italy. Its average width is 20 meters, and the depth varies from one to one and a half meters. Therefore, rafting is so popular here, and lovers of active rest come here to experience the drive and adrenaline rush.
The river flows into the Adriatic Sea near the town of Monfalcone. Due to the unusual color of the water, Soča is often called the “Emerald beauty”.
Due to multiple rapids, cliffs and steep slopes on this river and its coastal territory, nature created conditions for a wide variety of adrenaline sources: kayaking, rafting, canyoning, climbing, hiking, mountain biking, paragliding and many other attractions.
The Disney Company filmed some scenes from the film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian in the vicinity of the river.
The river Soča is known not only for its natural beauty, but also by the stone railway bridge Solkan built above it – the national treasure of Slovenia. It connects the shores of two states – Slovenia and Italy and has a length of 220 meters
